Oneida, NY – Beginning in mid-August, identical twins Dr. Matthew and Dr. Michael Siegenthaler, of Vernon, NY, will be returning to Central New York to practice family medicine. Both Matthew and Michael will be full-time physicians at TriValley Family Medicine, which recently joined Oneida Healthcare as an employed practice.
The brothers received their medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse followed by the completion of a three year family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center in 2018. “The opportunity to attend medical school locally and return home to provide primary care is a very rewarding experience,” said Dr. Matthew Siegenthaler. “We look forward to providing patient-centered care with a focus on prevention for years to come.”
In addition to providing primary care locally, they will also be serving as Syracuse University team physicians for the Men’s division I basketball and lacrosse teams. “My brother and I are always looking for opportunities to expand our practice and work with other experienced physicians across a broad spectrum of care,” said Dr. Michael Siegenthaler. “Working with division I athletes will only enhance the care we can provide locally to patients of all ages.”
Dr. Matthew Siegenthaler will be seeing patients at the TriValley Family Medicine Vernon office located at 3 Curtis Road. Dr. Michael Siegenthaler will be accepting patients at the TriValley Family Medicine Canastota office located at 7137 Mount Pleasant Road. Each of them are Board Certified in Family Medicine, which demonstrates a physician’s exceptional expertise in the field of family medicine. In July of 2018, TriValley Family Practice, previously a privately owned primary care practice with offices in Vernon and Canastota, officially joined Oneida Healthcare as a member of the Oneida Medical Practice, P.C. Previously, TriValley operated independently as an affiliated member of Oneida Healthcare. With the new arrangement, TriValley’s operations will be managed by Oneida Healthcare. As part of the agreement, Oneida Healthcare will be employing all current and future staff at both locations.
